F1 | Red Bull, Ricciardo risks: RB14 #3 on track in FP1 with the MGU-K engine damaged in Monaco

Despite the statements made by Adrian Newey about 48 hours ago, Daniel Ricciardo will not replace the MGU-K engine damaged during the last race in Monaco. According to what was reported by some internal Red Bull sources, in fact, the Australian decided to take a risk during this afternoon's FP1, installing the "burnt" unit during the last round.

A well-considered risk in which the Milton Keynes team, however, does not have much confidence: the technicians, in fact, will be ready for a possible substitution between FP1 and FP2, so as to allow Ricciardo, in case of problems during in the morning, to cover as many kilometers as possible during the afternoon. Furthermore, Renault would have advised Red Bull to proceed with the replacement, given that the component would have suffered numerous damages and would not guarantee the right reliability from a technical point of view. We'll see during FP1 how this problem will be resolved at Red Bull.
