F1 | Red Bull, Gasly: "We will suffer on the Softs, tomorrow it should be even hotter"

Fifth position on the starting grid for Pierre Gasly, who in Montreal managed to stay ahead of teammate Verstappen due to the difficulties the Dutchman had in qualifying, but in general throughout the weekend so far. The Frenchman, however, suffered a defeat from Ricciardo, who finished ahead of him in qualifying, ousting him from what seemed like a fairly safe second row after the difficulties Bottas also had in Q3, but he still says he is satisfied with his performance.

“I think qualifying went quite well – Gasly admitted. I didn't have any problems and I tried to squeeze the car to the maximum. I was quite close to third place, but I think starting from fifth is good for tomorrow's race and I think we can be happy with this. We were very close today and we know that starting on the Softs will be tricky, especially as it is expected to be even hotter than today, but I think we will make the race interesting to watch. I hope to maintain the pace and we will push as much as possible to challenge the top three."
