F1 | Red Bull, Christian Horner: “Superb performance from Max all weekend”

Christian Horner will probably be understanding, for the first time, how Toto Wolff must have felt during the seven years of Mercedes domination: Red Bull wins for the sixth time in a row, and if this is not a reason to take the championship for granted, he will at least be able to let the team principal sleep peacefully. There is no doubt that Ferrari's troubles have a good part of the credit for this result, the fact is that Max Verstappen and Red Bull don't make a single move wrong: the Dutchman was the fastest in free practice, took pole and takes the victory after the close pursuit of Carlos Sainz. Verstappen now flies to one hundred and seventy-five points, with a fifty-point advantage over Leclerc. Sergio Perez's race, however, was different, again hitting the wall: the Mexican's race lasted only nine laps, the lucky wave he had been riding since the Monaco weekend seems to have abandoned him.

"Max was fantastic today, he was under particular pressure at the end of the race, but he was superb all weekend, every practice session, qualifying and then the race – commented team principal Christian Horner – the Ferrari was very fast today, with the DRS zones of this track it was really difficult to keep up with it and Carlos sailed up to Max's exhausts and you could see them recharging the batteries every lap to try again, but Max kept his concentration high and finished a wonderful performance.
