F1 | Mick Schumacher and the upcoming test debut: “It all happened suddenly”

The two-day test, which will take place tomorrow and the day after on the Sakhir track, will mark the debut in a Formula One car for Mick Schumacher. The German son of art, who took part in his first Formula 2 races with the Prema team over the weekend, will in fact be driving both the Ferrari SF90 (Tuesday) and the Alfa Romeo C38 (Wednesday).

Schumi jr, speaking of the call he received to participate in these tests, said: “It's something that came suddenly and quite quickly. It's quite difficult to make your debut in Formula 2 and then immediately turn your attention to Formula One, as within a few days you find yourself driving cars with which you have little experience. Racing has always been part of my life, I think I have plenty of time to grow. Formula One cars look beautiful, I imagine becoming the driver is something very special. To be part of this circle you have to reach an excellent level, and it is the goal that many people dream of".

Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto expressed his opinion on Mick: “A few weeks ago I spent some time with him in Maranello. We are really happy that he is part of the Ferrari Driver Academy. We will follow him closely, we will support him where necessary. It will be an important season for him, he is aware of it, but I am pretty sure he will do well".
