The Australian hopes to get to know the MCL35M better and better

F1 | McLaren, Ricciardo: “I have to improve step by step”

Not the first half of the season that was expected. Daniel Ricciardo is experiencing quite a few adaptation difficulties in his new adventure at McLaren, rarely managing to shine in qualifying or come close to the performance and consistency of Lando Norris.

As admitted several times by the Australian driver, always sincere in his statements, the problem is exclusively one of feeling with the MCL35M, a radically different car, especially in braking, from those he has always been used to driving. To improve, we therefore need to work hard on understanding the single-seater, a work that according to the friendly driver born in '89 will also be very useful with a view to 2022.

“I'm certainly open-minded about the improvements I can make, I think it will be about making little steps forward here and there - Ricciardo's words as reported by Crash.net - The team is obviously focused on 2022, so it will be up to me to focus on this car and make progress with this chassis. I still have a lot to understand about this car, and I'm sure that the more I understand this year, the better it will be for me next year."
