F1 | McLaren, Lando Norris: “Happy with the team's third place”

Lando Norris ends his season with a fifth place, after a perfect and smooth race from himself and McLaren, who secure third place in the constructors' championship. Racing Point entered Yes Marina with a ten point lead, but Perez's withdrawal and Stroll's performance helped Lando and Carlos consolidate the lead of the Woking team which, after a dark period due to the marriage with Honda, returns among the top teams.

"I'd say it was a perfect day! – began Norris – the start was good and we did everything we could for the team. Perfect execution, with the safety car and pit stops, we managed the tires well. We took third place in the constructors' championship, it's fantastic, we're happy to end the season like this, I couldn't be happier." 

Norris concludes the season by also saying goodbye to the man who has been his teammate since his debut in 2019: Carlos Sainz leaves McLaren to join Ferrari. The exchanges between the two off the track were memorable, but Lando will certainly find a new ally in Daniel Ricciardo, who will be in his same garage from 2021.

"I would like to thank the boys and girls at McLare for their hard work during this season, you have done an incredible job all year and this result is for you. Finally, I wish Carlos a lot of luck for the future. I can't wait to compete on the track with you next year, and maybe even on the golf course.".
