F1 | Williams, Nicholas Latifi: “I would have liked more in this sport, but that's how it went”

Nicholas Latifi's adventure in Formula 1 ends with a retirement. The Canadian driver was one of the great protagonists of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2021, an event that perhaps changed his vision of racing. Since then something seemed to have broken for Nicholas, the victim of too many insults on the web, who hated and loved him. Twice in the points in 2021, once in 2022, Latifi was perhaps a little mistreated by most, who nicknamed him Goatifi - the acronym goat indicates "the greatest of all time“, the best of all time – but over time these fans began to grow fond of this boy, despite his performances. This was perhaps not what Latifi expected from his career in Formula 1, and we wish him to return to being competitive, as he had demonstrated in F2, in another category, where he can demonstrate his worth.

"The accident with Mick penalized us, but then there was the electrical problem which forced us to retire. This isn't how I wanted to leave, but that's how it happened – admitted Nicholas – I'm really grateful for these three years in Formula 1 with Williams. I leave this sport with the feeling of not having achieved all my goals, I would have liked more, but many times things in Motorsport go the way they have to go. In this journey there have been many ups and downs, many strong bonds and friendships that I will cherish forever".
