In an interview released during the last Italian Grand Prix, Zack Brown spoke about the introduction of an independent engineer in the Circus, underlining how it is not a bad idea if we consider the fact that, at the moment, a team must necessarily call Mercedes, Renault and Ferrari to have an engine.

An independent engine manufacturer, as Cosworth actually was a few years ago, would allow greater mobility within the market, without considering that it would attract many more teams into the paddock.

Brown underlined how this idea is currently on the table of the Strategy Group (with Cosworth as a point of reference) and hopes that with the new 2021 regulations greater alternatives can be created for teams that do not produce their own engine .”.
