F1 | McLaren, Boullier sets the goal: "Regularly on the podium in 2018"

The choice to focus on engines Renault, manifests the will of McLaren to return to fighting with the top teams. Eric boullier identified the podium area as the hunting ground of the Woking team for 2018: “It's still a bit early, it's only September. We will try to be competitive and be at least regularly on the podium, or even further” – declared the boss of the English team. The last podium obtained by Mclaren in Formula 1 dates back to Australian GP of the 2014, when Kevin Magnussen and Jenson Button finished second and third respectively: that was the last pre-Honda season.

Boullier thinks that the regulatory changes expected for next year could affect the values ​​in the field: “There will still be some regulatory changes for next year, for example the introduction of Halo and other types of things. Although we started working early on next year's car, we will still have to wait to make evaluations. We will also have to wait for the tests and obviously Australia to understand what performance level the other cars will reach".
