F1 | Leclerc: “Title? The road is still long"

This is the point of view of Charles Leclerc who yesterday concluded the Azerbaijan GP in fifth place. In Bahrain, a problem with the SF90 prevented the 21-year-old from taking the first victory of his career and returning to yesterday's race, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff recognized that the Monegasque: "He was the fastest". There are all the credentials to consider him a formidable opponent for the victory of the world championship.

After the accident in qualifying, Leclerc was quite critical of himself but, according to Lewis Hamilton, the Ferrari driver is a contender for the title.

“It's very nice to hear this from a five-time world champion -Leclerc commented to Le Journal du Dimanche- many people see me as already arrived but I think there is still a long way to go. One thing for sure is that I will do everything to get there, I want to be the best in my sport but at the same time I realize how difficult it is. Ever since I was a child, racing karts at a competitive level, I wanted to win. So yes, being world champion is a goal I want to achieve."
