F1 | Haas, Hulkenberg and Magnussen out of the points in Austin

F1 GP United States Haas – 13th and 16th position (which later became 11th and 14th thanks to the disqualifications of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc) for Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen in the last United States Grand Prix, the 18th round of the 2023 Formula 1 world championship. Despite the set-up change that forced them to start from the pit lane, the two Haas drivers suffered quite a bit with tire management at the Circuit of the Americas, effectively missing out on a great opportunity. A condition that will have to push the American team to deepen its studies on the new technical package presented this weekend in Texas.

“I think the race went better than we expected thanks to the changes we made between Saturday and Sunday,” said Kevin Magnussen. “The load definitely increased and the set-up was going in the right direction. However, it's still not enough, as we weren't as fast as we wanted. We finished in the position we started from the pit lane and we cannot be satisfied with this."

Here are Hulkenberg's impressions: “The car offered better sensations and in general the performance was more promising than the Sprint. However, all this came at a price, namely the departure from the pit lane. I think that with a decent qualifying today, we would have been able to fight for the points. There are some positive and encouraging signs from this weekend, but at the same time tire management was not easy."
