F1 | Ferrari, Vettel out in Q2: "I had a lot of difficulties in the first sector"

Another not exactly satisfactory day for Sebastian Vettel, who failed to get into Q3 at the Nurburgring, and for this reason he will start in eleventh position tomorrow in his home Grand Prix. The Ferrari driver did not seem comfortable on the SF1000, despite the updates brought, and always had a slower pace than Leclerc throughout today. The positive note is that of being able to choose the compound that best suits him, still being close to the top ten.

“Today I did my best, but I struggled a lot with my car in the first sector where I was sliding a lot – Vettel admitted. It was a shame not to have made it to Q3 also because the sensations I had were good and my pace was also encouraging. I hope to have luck in choosing the tires which will be free for me ahead of tomorrow. In the only free practice session available, this morning, we made some comparisons to evaluate the updates brought here. They were fitted directly to my car during the afternoon qualifying sessions but I didn't notice any particular differences. Today I am especially happy for the fans who finally, thanks to the much better weather conditions, had the chance to see some action on the track."
