F1 | Aston Martin, Sebastian Vettel enters Q3: “Things are starting to improve”

Finally a small glimmer of light opens in what seemed like a real cloud of bad luck for Sebastian Vettel. The German driver returns to a very familiar place for him, Q3, where he has been missing since the Silverstone Grand Prix in 2020. A small victory, especially considering the problems that the four-time world champion continues to have in adapting and understanding of his new car, combined with the satisfaction of having beaten teammate Lance Stroll, in Q3 in the last two qualifying sessions. Sebastian Vettel will start from tenth place on the grid in Portimao, with Pierre Gasly's AlphaTauri next to him.

"I am much happier after this session – Vettel finally revealed – we will start from the top 10, in the middle of the fight for points. There is still a lot of work ahead of us, but things are starting to fall into place and become automatic, and this helps me concentrate more on driving. I'm still learning a lot about the car, but today I was comfortable. The conditions were complicated, even though it was sunny, and the gusts of wind were unpredictable, making the car much lighter. My final attempt in Q3 wasn't the best. The wind direction changed again and I lost some time, and as a result the times were all so close. All in all though, it was a good session for me. We'll see what happens tomorrow".
