F1 | Alpine, the Academy driver line-up for 2022 has been made official

With an official press release, the Alpine team announced the Academy lineup for the 2022 season this morning, with the program now entering its seventh year of activity. jack doohan e Olli Caldwell they are the two new entries and they complement each other Hi Collett e Victor martins. The pilots then go on to represent Europe, South America and Oceania. Doohan and Caldwell will be in Formula 2 with Virtuosi Racing and Campos Racing respectively, and the pair made their debuts in the category in the final two rounds of last season.

Doohan, with an illustrious surname especially in the world of two wheels, is the second Australian driver to join the Renault/Alpine Academy after Oscar Piastri, after taking second place in the Formula 3 drivers' championship again in 2021. Olli Caldwell, on the other hand, nineteen, he finished eighth and also won a race. Collet and Martins have renewed their experience at the transalpine team's school for another year: the Brazilian will remain in MP Motorsport, while Martins moves to ART Grand Prix to tackle the Formula 3 championship for the second time.

The Academy has been very successful in 2021, with Oscar Piastri becoming Formula 2 champion at his first attempt, while Guanyu Zhou came third, and both are preparing to face their first season as Formula 1 drivers: the Australian will in fact be reserve in Alpine, while the Chinese has become a starter in Alfa Romeo alongside Valtteri Bottas. In all of this, Christian Lundgaard has changed the world and will race in IndyCar this year.
