F1 Test | Alpine, Ocon – “Three days of testing are few”

F1 tests – Test session also completed forAlpine: more than three hundred useful laps to test the quality of the A524, the car that will have to bring the French team back to redemption after an uphill 2023. Despite some problems along the way - between red flags and interruptions - the spirits of Esteban Ocon e Pierre Gasly they seem to be positive, but still cautious.

Ocon – “Three days of testing are not enough”

“All in all, it was a productive three days, perhaps the best since I've been with the team. From day one everything went smoothly, every operation continued without a hitch. The car has proven reliable and we managed to complete our test program – explained Ocon – we improved the car progressively from the first to the last day, but there is still a lot of work to do and it will be interesting to examine all the data to understand what else we can do. Three days of testing are few for a new car, there is still so much to discover. I thank the whole team on the track, ad enstone e Viruses for the long hours of work spent during the winter. Now it's time to run."

Gasly: “It was complicated for me”

More difficult days for Gasly, who suffered more than a few interruptions during his time on track on both the second and third days of testing.

“We have carried out several tests during these three days and we have only a few left to analyze all the data and continue our understanding of the new car concept. It is vital to be thoroughly familiar with the entire new package and understand how to make the most of it. For me it was, at times, complicated, especially because we lost precious time on the track for two days: the red flag on Thursday, then on Friday afternoon there was a problem with a component that came loose and we lost a couple of laps at the end. However, it was a productive test for the team, that's the most important thing. I'm looking forward to the first race."
