F1 | AlphaTauri, Pierre Gasly: ​​“I didn't expect such a good season”

Pierre Gasly was one of the surprises of the 2020 championship. The French driver, splendid and unexpected winner in Monza, was also the protagonist of other very important races, such as at the Nurburgring (6th), Portimao (5th), Bahrain (6th °), with ten overall top ten placings and closing the world championship in tenth place in the Drivers' standings.

In short, everything in the sign of "10" which is also the number he beats on his AlphaTauri, the team of which he is now the clear leader. 2020 has relaunched Pierre's image as a Circus talent, and at just 24 years old the future is yet to be written. Yet the French driver didn't have such positive feelings on the eve of the season -

"I have to admit that, at the beginning of the year, I thought the season would be much more difficult than it ended up being. In Barcelona, ​​during the tests, there were various aspects, especially from an aerodynamic point of view, that were not right, but the team was able to react – Gasly's words as reported by Corriere dello Sport -  Then the late start of the championship favored us because in Austria we brought some updates to the single-seater. From the point of view of the engine we are very happy because it has proven to be competitive. Honda has done an excellent job during the year, reliability has increased and the evolution continues."

Gasly, who in 2021 will team up with the very young rookie Yuki Tsunoda, can't wait to start again: “It's been my best season in F1 and I can't wait to be back on track” commented the driver born in Rouen.
