F1 | Alfa Romeo, colorless weekend for Bottas and Zhou

Weekend to forget forAlfa Romeo in Texas. Both in the Sprint, both in the actual race, Valtteri Bottas e Zhou Guangyu they couldn't even get close to the points. Perhaps it was the fault of the track, which forced the team to have an underperforming set-up, so much so that the two drivers weren't even able to engage in battles on the track. The only positive note is that not even the opponents managed to get away with it Austin, postponing the championship fight to Mexico.

“We gave everything today: strategically we did everything correctly, but unfortunately we lacked pace throughout the weekend compared to our rivals. The track was quite bumpy, and this affected our performance because we had to raise the car sacrificing grip, so we weren't able to take advantage of our updates – explained Bottas, fourteenth – on the other hand, neither were our rivals they managed to score some points, so the battle for seventh position in the championship is still open. Similar feelings also for Zhou Guanyu, fifteenth behind Bottas. The two gain two positions in the post-race thanks to the disqualifications of Hamilton e Leclerc, however remaining far from the points zone.

“Our car seemed to be working better at the start of the weekend, especially after the set-up changes in FP1, but in the end we weren't able to hold on to the position. Unfortunately, we didn't have enough speed to fight with our opponents. I felt like I had no grip and I wasn't able to put up any fights. It was then complicated in the end, there was a lot of degradation: we will have to analyze the whole weekend carefully, but I think that even with a different strategy there wouldn't have been a big difference. Now let's focus and hope to return stronger to Mexico."
