Confusion over Mutua Madrilena's status at McLaren

The position of the Spanish sponsor Mutua Madrilena within McLaren Mercedes is not yet clear. In recent weeks there had been talk of the divorce from the Woking team and a possible return to Renault together with Fernando Alonso. The "MM" logo was in fact not present on the front wing of the McLaren Mercedes MP4-23 presented in Stuttgart two days ago but it still appears on the overalls of the drivers, Lewis Hamilton and Heikki Kovalainen, and of the test drivers Pedro de la Rosa and Gary Paffett.

However, a spokeswoman for the insurance company declared that the company is still among the partners of McLaren Mercedes.
