Bahrain Grand Prix: 5 place grid penalty for Sutil
di StaffApril 5, 2014
Adrian Sutil will start from the back of the grid for the Bahrain Grand Prix after being penalized by the stewards for obstructing Romain Grosjean during qualifying.
Lotus driver Grosjean was coming up behind the Sauber when Sutil moved to the right and forced the Frenchman to brake to avoid contact.
The race officials announced that Sutil performed an unsafe maneuver between turns 13 and 14 and imposed a 5-place grid penalty on the driver.
Sutil, who qualified in 18th position, will now start from the back of the grid.
The Sauber driver was also awarded two penalty points for the incident.
The accident occurred during Grosjean's qualifying laps and did not affect the Frenchman's qualifying performance.
