Telmex does not want to buy Sauber
di Robert Ferrari29 October 2010
Future Sauber driver Sergio Perez has denied that his sponsor Telmex is interested in taking control of Peter Sauber's team. After losing the important support of BMW, the Swiss team had considerable difficulty in finding sponsors and had been looking for a new partner for some time to finance 2011.
Perez: “Telmex will enter as a sponsor and nothing more. Me and Esteban -Gutierrez- are both here only because Sauber decided to let us sign."
Carlos Slim, the owner of Telmex and the richest man in the world, confirmed that the company's interest in Sauber is to be understood as a commercial alliance rather than the antechamber of greater involvement in the management structure.
