Williams F1, Senna: “A difficult start to the weekend for me here in Montreal”

The Williams F1 team had a mixed day today in Montreal in free practice for the Canadian Grand Prix with Pastor Maldonado completing his entire work programme, however, Bruno Senna, in the first session, had problems with the DRS and crashed in the second session.

Pastor Maldonado: “We completed all the things we had planned for the session so we had a productive day and I'm in a good position at the moment. We still need to work on the set-up to get the balance right, but overall the car worked well and was consistent, particularly on long runs. We also brought some upgrades for this race and they worked well, which is encouraging.”

Bruno Senna: It was a difficult day today. I had problems with the DRS during the morning session and have limited experience of this circuit, so today was about learning and seeing how far I can push the car. Obviously I pushed too hard towards the end of FP2 and hit the wall, which is disappointing. However we have made some improvements on the overall package and tomorrow morning I can go out and try to optimize the set-up to get a good result on Sunday.”
