Vettel, tribute to Schumacher: “Michael's victories with Ferrari are in mind”

After winning the Malaysian Grand Prix, for the first time aboard Ferrari, Sebastian Vettel admitted that his first triumph in Red was made even more special from the association of the triumphs in Sepang, again with the Prancing Horse, obtained by his compatriot Michael Schumacher. The 27-year-old was the first to take the checkered flag in Kuala Lumpur in his second race for Ferrari while Schumacher, in 1996, needed seven Grand Prix before being able to take the Ferrari to the top step of the podium.

In defense of the seven-time Formula 1 World Champion it must also be said that the SF15-T and the F310 they are not comparable at all, mainly because they are two cars distant in chronological terms, secondly because Schumacher's first Ferrari, in terms of reliability and performance, was certainly not at the level of Vettel's first Ferrari, a car born under a lucky star both at chassis and engine level.

“It was amazing to see all the guys when I stood on the podium, I looked down and it was something exciting – commented the German Ferrari driver – I remember the victories that Alonso and Schumacher achieved with the Ferrari, but above all all the triumphs that Michael he won over with this team, it was something exceptional and special, seriously."
