Sauber, Sergio Perez : “A difficult day today, but the important thing is that we are improving”

Sergio Pérez completed his second day of pre-season testing with the new Sauber C31 in Jerez today. The day got off to a promising start with the Mexican driver immediately setting good lap times on a cold track and then on medium compound tyres. However, shortly before lunchtime it became clear that the gearbox oil filter needed to be changed. Today's mileage was limited, but nevertheless, the Sauber F1 Team has good reason to remain positive.

Giampaolo Dall'Ara (Head of Track Engineering):
“We started the day with some set-ups in the morning, when we tried different ride heights and shocks. The car responded very well to the changes. Everything looks promising. The fact is that we then lost significant time and it was a shame, but on the other hand our results so far are very positive. ”

Sergio Pérez:
“It was a difficult day for us, but the important thing is that we are improving. Every step took us in the right direction. Tomorrow it will be Kamui's turn for another day of testing. Obviously he will have a busy schedule and I hope we can finish the Jerez test with a productive day. ”

Circuit: Jerez de la Frontera / 4.428 km
