Rosberg: “Something didn't work properly”

Rosberg: “Something didn't work properly”

Despite the many set-up changes carried out during this morning's free practice, Nico Rosberg was unable to snatch pole position for the Hungarian Grand Prix from Lewis Hamilton.

The German from Mercedes complained of the same understeer problems suffered yesterday and was unable to exploit the enormous potential of his W06 Hybrid. However, second position on the grid gives morale in anticipation of tomorrow's race, also considering the race pace shown during free practice, and in this sense it will be essential to get an excellent start. Overtaking at the Hungaroring is very complicated and therefore Rosberg will have to make the most of every little mistake made by the reigning World Champion.

Here are Rosberg's words: “Something didn't work properly in the set-up of the car and we absolutely need to understand what. I suffered the exact same problems as yesterday and this despite the enormous work done by the technicians during free practice this morning. We have a good race pace, especially with the harder compound tyres, and therefore nothing is lost yet, despite today's terrible performance."

“Tomorrow it will be essential to get a good start and, if necessary, make the most of every little mistake Lewis makes. Overtaking here is not at all easy but the last word has not been said" he concluded.
