Ricciardo disqualified from the Australian GP
Fuel flow limit of 100 kg/hour exceeded
Daniel Ricciardo was disqualified from the Australian F1 GP after FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer detected a fuel flow that significantly exceeded the 100kg/hour limit imposed by the regulations from this year.
The top management of the Red Bull team were summoned by the stewards who then excluded the Australian from the finishing order of the race for the violation of article 3.2 of the FIA F1 Sporting Regulations and article 5.1.4 of the FIA Technical Regulations of F1.
RED BULL WILL APPEAL – Red Bull responded immediately by announcing its intention to appeal: "Throughout the weekend, throughout the pitlane, the inconsistency of the FIA fuel flow measurement sensor was evident" declared the Austrian team. Horner: “The technology adopted by the FIA is immature, we had already detected inaccurate measurements in the tests”.
FIA: RED BULL HAD ALREADY BEEN WARNED – The FIA in turn responded to Red Bull's statements by explaining that it had notified the team and that the team refused to make any changes.
