Red Bull, Verstappen: “Excellent pace with the super softs”

Superlative Friday for Red Bull on the Singapore street circuit. As expected, in fact, Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen immediately found an excellent feeling with the tight curves of the Marina Bay circuit, confirming the qualities of the RB12 chassis. The objective will be to worry Mercedes in qualifying this afternoon.

Here are Max Verstappen's impressions: “It was a positive day for us and we can be satisfied with the balance of the car. For FP2 we weren't completely happy, but we know what areas we need to work on and improve. The car felt good, we're more or less there and we've had a good start to the weekend. The tires worked very well, I was happy with the ultrasofts and there was a nice difference between them. I think it will be an interesting battle between us, Mercedes and Ferrari, and I'm looking forward to it."

Daniel Ricciardo's impressions: “This circuit is always difficult. You're pushing the limit on a street circuit and you want to feel good in qualifying so today is the day to experiment. I had a bit of a ride and hit the barrier, but the car was more or less fine. It's hot, it's difficult and everything is a bit on the edge here for sure, but to find a few tenths on this circuit can be very easy because there are so many corners and with the tires overheating in the last sector you can lose or gain a lot. We still feel like we can get a little more speed out of the car and that's what tonight is for. Even if we find some little things, then hopefully, they add up to some lap time tomorrow. “
