Red Bull: another double in Germany

Mark Webber won the German Grand Prix at the Nurburgring ahead of his Red Bull Racing teammate, Sebastian Vettel. For the Australian it is the first career victory in Formula 1.

MARK WEBBER
"It's an incredible day. I really wanted to win after Silverstone and I thought I had wasted a good chance there, then after yesterday's pole I knew I was in a good position to try to win the race today. The only thing I thought What could disturb me was the rain, but it stayed away. At the start I lost Rubens completely. I thought he was going to the left so I moved to the right and touched him. It's not part of my style and I was penalized with a drive-through for that episode, so I had to recover. My engineer kept me calm and I pushed as hard as possible, so it was a fantastic day. It was a difficult winter, Sebastian showed in the winter tests what could make the car, so my motivations remained high while I was recovering. I had fantastic people next to me to recover from all the injuries, the team was incredibly patient. I want to thank Dietrich Mateschitz, Red Bull, and all the Red Bull Racing for what they did for me in the winter, all of Australia who supported me throughout my career and also several people who doubted me, shout out to them too. It's just an incredible day for everyone who helped me be where I am today."

SEBASTIAN VETTEL
"Congratulations to Mark, he was unbeatable today, he was faster than all of us, so it was a totally deserved victory. I'm very happy with the result and in the end I made a good comeback. It was a pretty bad start, I had all the cars equipped with KERS around me, both McLarens passed me and also Felipe Massa. It was difficult to start fourth and find myself eighth at the first corner. Then I suffered a lot with the soft tires in the first stint and I found a lot traffic. I could have been faster, but there was no way to pass Felipe, since as always he used the special button when I approached. However, I was lucky with the right strategy which brought us back to second position but Felipe didn't he stopped pushing so it was tough until the end of the race. I had to fight, but it's another one-two for the team and I'm happy. I'd be lying if I said I was very happy with the result, because for sure I wanted to win, but yesterday Mark did a better job and for this reason he totally deserved the victory today, it's a good battle between us, so I'm looking forward to the next races with confidence."
