Red Bull, Horner defends Verstappen
According to the team principal, Max's behavior was borderline but correct
Those who supported and defended Max Verstappen from all the accusations received after the events of the Belgian Grand Prix were Red Bull, the team for which the young Dutchman races.
From the Anglo-Austrian team, Verstappen is seen as the great opportunity to have another title driver, another driver who can bring them back to winning the world championships as happened with Sebastian Vettel. For this reason there is also a sort of "protection" towards him, protection which, however, did not reach Daniil Kvyat when, at the beginning of the season, he was harshly criticized for his contacts with Sebastian Vettel: "I think Max's maneuver was definitely on the limit, but I'm sure that if there had been a problem or it had gone against the rules, race director Charlie Whiting would have reported it. But the stewards they saw no reason to place him under investigation. However, I'm sure he will learn for the next races” – he said Chris horner, team principal of Red Bull -. “There were three cars fighting for one place: I think Sebastian on the outside pushed too much, probably without realizing that Max was on the inside and didn't give space to Kimi who didn't know where to go. Maybe Max was a little too aggressive, but he had everything under control".
He is also among the many who have criticized Verstappen's attitude Toto wolff, director of Mercedes, who said after the race: "If he continues to race like this, however, he risks getting hurt, of going fast into a wall, because today his approach to the GPs is really dangerous." Horner cut this short: “I'm surprised that Toto commented on something that doesn't concern him".
