Raikkonen: “It's a shame we couldn't test the new updates”

The use of the new Double DRS in Spa is unlikely

The two sessions “wet” of free practice sessions were not very useful to the Lotus which was supposed to test the famous Double DRS, the team therefore decided not to wear the device either in qualifying or in the race, for that matter either Kimi Raikkonen, and the technical director of the English team expressed their regret for not having been able to try the new updates.

“There's not much to say about today. It was raining too much to go out on track, however we don't lose hope as the forecast predicts an improvement for the next two days. I'm looking forward to driving on the dry track if the weather permits. It's a shame we weren't able to test the new updates as it would have been interesting to see how they performed on this track. Tomorrow is another day, we'll see what happens” declared Raikkonen.

“The forecast for the next couple of days is good, it's also expected to get hotter so going out on track today wouldn't have been very helpful in terms of preparing for qualifying or the race,” said James Allison.

“Today's rain prevented us from testing the “device” so we don't even know how it behaves in unexpected racing conditions. What we will do is test the new aerodynamic updates in tomorrow's free practice and we will make some evaluations. If we want to see a positive side of today we can say that the car behaves well even in these conditions and we are happy not to have suffered any damage to the cars” he added.
