F1 | Perez: “They don't send Stroll away”
"I am a father and I would never kick my son out"
The Mexican driver is aware of this: in case the agreement between Racing Point and Sebastian Vettel goes well, he will have to give way to the German.
"It's obvious – commented Sergio Perez to Movistar- if someone has to go… I'm a father and I would never kick my son out, there's nothing else I can add".
The 30-year-old has a contract that ties him to Racing Point until 2021 but Vettel's arrival could turn everything upside down:
“I just know that I still have my contract. A lot is happening but from my side, everything remains the same and I still believe in the project. Obviously there are internal discussions but to this day everything still stands. In every contract there are always clauses. It's a bit related to the sponsorship issue, in this case the clause can be opened, a lot of work is done so that this doesn't happen on the part of my sponsors."
Carlos Sainz, regarding the latest transfer rumors, declared:
"(Perez, ed.) he is a great driver who deserves to continue in Formula 1. I think these are just rumors, but I would also like to see Vettel in Formula 1 next year. I would like to see them both because they are two great riders. I wouldn't want Checo to lose a competitive car like Racing Point."
