Montezemolo in the Hall of Fame: “I dedicate the recognition to Schumacher”

Luca Cordero di Montezemolo has fully entered the Hall of Fame of the world of motoring and will be awarded on July 23rd at the Detroit Marriot at the Renaissance Center, in Detroit. The former number one of the Prancing Horse, who will receive the recognition for “having restored prestige to the brand, bringing Scuderia Ferrari back to the forefront of international racing, while rebuilding the brand into a global powerhouse“, has decided to dedicate this important reward to the driver who won most of all with the Red, Michael Schumacher.

The 67-year-old manager himself wanted to remember con emotion the years spent in close contact with the seven-time World Champion: “I have dedicated a large part of my professional life to the world of cars and I can only be particularly proud of it. I would like to dedicate this award to all the people who have worked with me in Maranello, sharing with enthusiasm the attachment and passion we have for the world of racing. But in this particular moment, and everyone will understand, I want to dedicate it in particular to Michael Schumacher, the greatest driver in the history of Ferrari. Come on Michael!”.

The seven-time Formula 1 World Champion, who managed to conquer the championship for good with Ferrari five seasons subsequently, last December 29, 2013 he was the victim of a terrible skiing accident which caused him serious head injuries from which he is still recovering. The slow rehabilitation process, who moved from the clinic in Lausanne to the Schumacher family villa in Gland, Switzerland, is followed daily and for 24 hours a day by a team of around fifteen specialists.
