McLaren hires Prodromou, Newey's right-hand man
The head of Red Bull aerodynamics passes to Woking
di Staff12 October 2013
McLaren has confirmed it has hired Red Bull's head of aerodynamics. Peter Prodromou, Adrian Newey's right-hand man, will then move to the Woking team.
“He has signed a contract with us,” team boss Martin Whitmarsh confirmed to Reuters at Suzuka. Prodromou's current contract with Red Bull would expire in 2015.
Red Bull's Christian Horner also confirmed Prodromou's departure: "We have had a long relationship with Peter, he is a valuable member of the team and there is still a long time left until his contract expires."
“We don't want to force him to stay, if it's his choice to leave then he will leave at the end of his contract. But we are calm” added Horner.
