McLaren, Button clarifies: “No rivalry with Perez”

Jenson Button it throws water on the fire of what for many is an uncomfortable presence in the home McLaren, the rivalry between the British Brita driver and his teammate Sergio Perez.

The 2009 world champion wanted to point out that he and the Mexican driver spoke - and clarified - about what happened in Bahrain already in the days following the grand prix.

“After the race I think it was important to sit down and talk together about what had happened during the race and move forward. I think we're lucky to be free to fight among ourselves, because there are several teams where it's not possible, but we shouldn't take advantage of it too much.", he said.

“We have clarified these points and I hope that we will fight again in Barcelona, ​​perhaps this time for the victory and not for sixth or seventh place”, continued Button who then added regarding the radio messages: “The problem is that those messages were aimed at my team and not at the spectators. Furthermore, not all of them were transmitted, but only a part and therefore they may have been read in the wrong way."

“For now things haven't gone well, but I think we have taken the right direction for the development of the car and this is very positive. In Barcelona we will have several new components that should help us also in the future"he concluded.
