Mclaren, Boullier: “Satisfied with the updates brought to Malaysia”

The clear steps forward made by Mclaren during the last Malaysian Grand Prix satisfied Eric Boullier, race director of the Woking Scuderia. The updates to the power unit brought by Honda to Malaysian soil allowed Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso to finish the sixteenth round of this 2016 world championship in the points, finishing with two excellent placings that boost morale for this season finale and especially for the next one Suzuka GP. Boullier underlined how the entire team is giving its all to close the gap with the leaders and how the collaboration with the Japanese engineer is starting to bear fruit.

Here are the words of Eric Boullier: “The updates brought to Malaysia have allowed us to improve our power unit. The results were in line with our expectations and we are happy with the work done by Honda in recent weeks. We are making quite clear progress and I am sure that before Abu Dhabi we will take another small step forward. Furthermore, in Malaysia we brought a new crankcase which helped us in terms of reliability and this will allow us to be slightly more aggressive in terms of the power delivered by the power train. The riders are satisfied and we hope to replicate the good performances on Sunday."
