Indy500 | Alonso looks to the 500 Miglia: “I want to face it with the best team possible”

In a chat given to the newspaper Mondo Deportivo, Fernando Alonso spoke about his objectives for the 2020 season, underlining how the main idea is to attack the Indianapolis 500.

After the traumatic experience of 2019, in fact, the Spaniard intends to rely on the hands of a team that can provide him with a competitive package. Hence the idea of carrying out a negotiation with Michael Andretti's team, a structure with which he has already worked in his first experience at Indinapolis.

As regards the Dakar, however, the Spaniard has not set himself any ambitious goals, underlining how this experience mainly serves him to make contact with a world he has never had to deal with, at least until today.

“The Dakar adventure is a challenge to feel competitive and be able to learn from the best in a specialty that is absolutely far from what I know”, the two-time world champion said to the press. “The goal in terms of competitiveness, however, is to try to win something important, such as the Indianapolis 500.”

On the programs for 2020 he added: “I will try to be in the best team possible and in the best conditions. I hope to finalize something soon."
