Hamilton: “The team worked well”

Ferrari's exploits in the Jerez pre-season tests do not worry Lewis Hamilton excessively. The Mercedes Englishman, at the end of his second session of work, said he was very satisfied with the starting base of the W06 Hybrid, explaining that the team had completed all the programs as best as possible for this four-day test in Andalusia. In fact, Mercedes preferred to work on reliability and race pace, always testing with a large quantity of carburettors. The German Scuderia immediately wanted to put the W06 under pressure, making it reach 2000 km. The reigning World Champion, precisely in this sense, explained that from the Barcelona tests we will begin to work seriously on performance.

Here are the words of Lewis Hamilton: “It was a pleasant surprise to see Nico manage to do more than 150 laps on the first day and both finish every other session around the 100 lap mark. I spoke to Paddy at the end of the session and they were all very satisfied. Usually in the Jerez tests you manage to put together a decent mileage but you would always like more, but this week the reliability was truly ironclad. We didn't have any serious problems and the car responded great."
