GP Austin 2018, Raikkonen's last victory in Ferrari

The only one obtained by Iceman in the second chapter of his career with the Red

GP Austin 2018, Raikkonen's last victory in Ferrari

Il 21 October 2018 it is one of those dates that have left their mark on the Ferrari world. Just over a year ago in fact Kimi Raikkonen crossed the finish line first at the United States GP in Austin, ahead of Max Verstappen's Red Bull and Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes (started from pole).

For Finnish it is thelast victory with the Red, won at the end of a race in which Raikkonen - starting from third position - had to keep the aggression of the young Verstappen at bay. For Iceman the victory in Austin was la la 21st in his career: the tenth with Ferrari, the first - and only - of his second life in red (2014 - 2018) after the nine won from 2007 (year of the world title) to 2009.

A circuit that had seen him on the podium in 2017, with a third place which was followed by the same results in Mexico and Brazil (also repeated in 2018). This year Mexico preceded the US GP and the retirement in Mexico City leaves the Finn with that desire for revenge to be redeemed perhaps in the USA.

In recent days Raikkonen declared that he "has good memories in Austin", referring to last year's race. One of the most beautiful for Ferrari fans and in particular for those of Iceman, who hope to see the World Champion still provide emotions on the track.
