Four candidates to take over the Renault team
According to the British press, the purchase of the Renault team will be a two-way deal between Gerard Lopez and David Richards. Hypothesis strengthened by the French newspaper L'Equipe, according to which Bernie Ecclestone would be in favor of the entry of the Mangrove/Genii company led by Lopez, given the presence of the former founder of BAR, Craig Pollock, as team boss.
At the same time, the owner of F1 reveals to the Times that there are not only David Richards and Gerard Lopez as possible buyers of the team. “There is Lopez's group, Richards' group and then there are two other people”.
The now 79-year-old, however, believes the deal could happen before Christmas.
“I don't think there is such a rush, but I hope that everything can be resolved in the next ten days before the Christmas interruptions”.
