Formula 1 | Red Bull, Perez: “Good lap after a complicated weekend”

from Le Castellet, France

After a particularly complicated weekend, Sergio Perez achieved the minimum position required in qualifying for the French Grand Prix. The Red Bull driver will start from third position tomorrow, therefore on the second row, so as to help Verstappen in the fight with Leclerc. The Anglo/German team then deploys the two strikers, taking advantage of the penalty imposed on Sainz for replacing the power unit.

“I had a good lap after a rather difficult start to the weekend, so I'm happy – Checo said. We changed something in the car setup and managed to gain pace and better understand the tyres, which worked well and we hope they put us in the ideal condition to fight in the race. You need to be patient, make a good start and have an optimal strategy with the tires in the various stints, in order to have a good result. It is important to work together to achieve the best possible result as a team."
