Formula 1 | Horner reiterates: “Red Bull will not give up on the development of the RB16B”

Red Bull does not intend to give up the development of the RB16B which is currently battling with Mercedes to win the 2021 Formula 1 world championship. Interviewed by Autosport, Christian Horner analyzed the division of the budget between the 2021 and 2022 car, specifying how in Milton Keynes is doing his utmost not only to correctly develop the concept for next year, but also to keep up with a W12 which, thanks to the aerodynamic package presented by Mercedes at Silverstone, has managed to close a large part of the gap performance shown in the triptych of races formed by Le Castellet, Styria and Austria

“It's not part of Red Bull culture to give up a season,” stated the Team Principal of the four-time world champion team. “There are budget cap constraints that are complicating our life, but as a team we must try to do the best for this championship too. We have to try and every match we will be called to give 110%. It will be a challenge and everyone within the team is ready to make sacrifices to achieve the goal."

On the different management of development by Mercedes he added: “They have a bigger organization than us, but I don't know what their limits are. I can only focus on what we are doing. If they are 2 seconds ahead in the first race next year, it will be disappointing."
