Formula 1 | Hamilton, what a blow to Verstappen!
"It's all exaggerated, I've had much stronger teammates," the seven-time world champion told Sky
The rivalry between Hamilton e verstappen, exploded in 2021 and continues to offer interesting chapters. Unfortunately, on the track, the two drivers no longer find each other very easily, given that the Dutchman often takes and runs away with his elusive Red Bull, while Lewis is trying to move up with the Mercedes after more than a difficult year. Interviewed on Sky by Mara Sangiorgio, the seven-time world champion addressed many topics, but clearly the one concerning his "freshest" rival is one of the most captivating. Hamilton refers to the way in which the Dutch driver's dominance is described, making a comparison with what happened in past years, when he dominated far and wide.
“I didn't have an easy life with my teammates like Verstappen did – Lewis said. I thought about it while I was racing, about how the media can tell something: when in qualifying I gave five or six tenths to Bottas, they didn't tell me the same things that today they say to Max when he beats Perez, it's all very inflated. My opinion? I have had much stronger teammates, and I'm talking about Bottas, Button, Alonso, Rosberg and Russell. They have all been very strong and consistent drivers, while Verstappen isn't racing against anyone so good."
