Formula 1 – Ferrari: the last act of the 2014 season in Abu Dhabi

Ferrari (Formula 1) – The last one will be held on Sunday on the spectacular Yas Marina circuit Grand Prix of the 2014 Formula 1 season. The race has the particularity of being the only one that is run with two completely different lighting conditions: the start, in fact, takes place in the late afternoon, with natural light, but the sun soon sets, leaving the task of illuminating the track to the powerful reflectors scattered along the 5.554 meters designed by Hermann Tilke.

La formula 1 he arrives there with the drivers' title still to be assigned and the Constructors' championship hierarchy to be defined. Scuderia Ferrari therefore wants to end the season on a high note, trying to maximize the opportunities offered by the double points that only this race offers, with final verdicts still to be written.

The Yas Marina track is a modern track, characterized by a rather fast first sector which is contrasted by two more tortuous parts, with low speed corners. A compromise is therefore required that allows us to be competitive in qualifying and when cornering, without compromising the top speed which is so important in the race. The track, also due to the temperatures, requires that the cars have a good cooling system for both the engine and the brakes.

An unknown this week will be the tyres: for the first time in Abu Dhabi, in fact, Pirelli has decided to bring the Soft and Supersoft compounds. The teams will certainly benefit from this in qualifying, but it will be necessary to work well in free practice to try to understand their performance in race configuration.

In this video, the Deputy Chief Designer of the Scuderia, Simone subtraction, explains the Abu Dhabi track and describes the aspects that teams and drivers will have to pay more attention to.
