Formula 1 | Ferrari goes on break with Leclerc's third podium of the season

Scuderia Ferrari arrives at the summer break with the satisfaction of its third podium of the season. Thanks to Charles Leclerc who was the protagonist of a solid race run at a good and constant pace from start to finish. Much bad luck for Carlos Sainz, involved in a race accident at the first corner with Oscar Piastri and forced to retire halfway through the race due to damage sustained by his SF-23.

Linear race.
Charles started well from pole position but was unable to do anything against the two Red Bulls of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez who very soon began to lead the group. However, the Monegasque set a constant pace which allowed him to control Lewis Hamilton well behind him. During both stops the team marked its rival, always stopping Leclerc on the immediately following lap, thus preventing the undercut, and fitting him with the same rubber compound as Hamilton, first the medium and then the soft. For the Monegasque it is the 27th podium in Formula 1, number 801 for Ferrari.

Injection of confidence. The team heads into the mandatory summer break with the awareness that it still has a lot of work to do to get closer to Red Bull, but with the satisfaction of having worked well and thus collected a fair reward. It's a shame for Carlos, who deserved to play his cards and could have contributed to an important haul of points for the team. We start again at the end of August, the 27th, from Zandvoort, with the Dutch Grand Prix.
