F1 | Zak Brown: “Alonso will participate in the 24 Hours of Daytona”

Il executive director of McLaren, Zak Brown, confirmed the participation of Fernando Alonso to the 24 Hours of Daytona. Fernando will be part of the team United Autosports together with Lando Norris e Phil Hanson, but also hopes to be able to participate in Le Mans. And Brown, co-owner of United Autosports, revealed the negotiations between him and Alonso: “We focused on the renewal for the formula 1, but not two minutes after I signed it he immediately asked me to go to Daytona,” Brown said.

“He does this, he talks about everything, he makes speeches, and then suddenly he comes up with something else. This is what happened in this case too. That's exactly what happened,” he continued. And they understood each other immediately, because they both share a great passion for racing: “Fernando and I have this relationship, because we are two guys who they always think about running, 24 hours a day for 7 days” added Brown. “As I spend more time around him, it's amazing to see the amount of research he does. He clearly wants to win Daytona as part of his mission to win Le Mans,” he concluded.
