F1 | Williams, Stroll on the accident with Hartley: "The car slipped away from me, these things happen at the start"

Williams almost never reached Canada, except at the start with the spectacular accident between Lance stroll and Brendon Hartley, who knocked both out of the running. It didn't get much better Sergey sirotkin, 17th and last of the riders to cross the finish line.

STROLL LANCES
Starting position: 16 °
Final results: OUT on round 1
“First of all I'm really disappointed for the fans. I received a great welcome here for my home race and wanted to provide them with a good show. I made a good start, gained some positions and overtook both McLarens, but there was some contact when overtaking. Then I found myself alongside Brendon in Turn 5 and the car slipped away from me: there wasn't much room for both of us and, when I made the correction, we touched. It's not ideal, but it's a competition. Things like this happen on the first lap: you're side by side and sometimes it goes like this.".

SERGEY SIROTKIN
Starting position: 17 °
Final results: 17th (+2 laps)
“It was a difficult race. The start was particularly complicated with the hard tyres, compared to the others who were using the softer compounds. However, I was able to gain a few positions at the beginning. However, with the safety car and the poor warming of the hard tyre, it was impossible for me to maintain the pace. We were the slowest car of the day and, despite our problems, we did our best to finish the race. This is where we are, we have to be honest.".
