F1 | Williams, Nicholas Latifi: “It was the most complicated race of my life”

Monaco was a colorless and twist-free race, particularly for Williams. The Grove team celebrates the 750th Grand Prix with the Principality event: it is the third team to reach this milestone in the history of Formula 1, after Ferrari and McLaren. Unfortunately the team was unable to celebrate with the points: George Russell and Nicholas Latifi were only fourteenth and fifteenth at the finish line.

"It was a pretty simple race and we couldn't have deserved more with the pace shown by the car – commented Russell – the race was uneventful, nothing exciting happened, but sometimes it's just Monaco. The performance wasn't as good as we hoped, but the result wouldn't have changed. However, pushing this car hard through the streets of Monaco, lap after lap, was really fun. Next is Baku and we will keep pushing."

Very similar words also for Nicholas Latifi, who started from eighteenth place.

"It was a very difficult race, probably the most complicated race so far in Formula 1 for me, but I think I handled it quite well – revealed the Canadian – It's definitely a track that doesn't suit our car, with any fuel load, with the low speed corners and bumps. It was very hard to manage, but I don't think I could have managed the tires any better. I had a little more pace than George at various points in the race, but in the end we still wouldn't have been able to get into the points. There wasn't the typical chaos of Munich, but sometimes that's how it goes here".
