F1 | Vettel: “Today I didn't have any pace, but tomorrow the race pace won't be a problem”

Sebastian Vettel will start tomorrow in the British GP from sixth place, after a qualifying in which he was never able to be competitive compared to his rivals and above all in comparison with his teammate, Charles Leclerc, who instead, after finishing in second and first place in Q1 and Q2 respectively, in the end he managed to secure third starting place for the Sunday race.

The German, after an initial problem with the DRS which he also complained about to the team, never found the performance, always remaining behind Mercedes and Red Bull. Interviewed by Sky Sport, Vettel actually attributed the problems he had in qualifying to the speed of his car, not to the same competitive level as the others: "There was no problem with the DRS, overall I missed it a bit of pace and speed, we weren't able to increase the speed until the end of qualifying, when normally there is an improvement on the track, which did arrive but I wasn't able to go faster. Yesterday the car wasn't as good as today, so that's positive. But obviously it wasn't enough for me, I struggled on the track. Tomorrow should go better because during the race the values rebalance and the race pace has never been a problem. We're starting a little further back than I would have liked,” he concluded.
