F1 | Vettel: “Gap year? At the moment everything is possible"

Interviewed by the Osterreich newspaper, Sebastian Vettel he returned to talk about his future in Formula 1, underlining how he has not currently made any decisions for 2021.

Despite the many market rumors that have circulated in recent days, especially on Red Bull and Aston Martin, the four-time world champion does not want to be influenced by the press and external voices, an aspect that could lead him to consider a sabbatical while waiting for 2022.

On the Ferrari, however, the German reiterated a concept already expressed before Austrian Grand Prix, i.e. that the economic factor did not influence the non-renewal for 2021.

“Money has never been a problem,” declared the German from Ferrari. “If I wanted to top up my wallet, I probably already have a seat. I want to leave all this talk behind me and focus on the present and the future."

On the possibility of a sabbatical he added: “At the moment anything is possible. I don't see why I should be influenced by external pressures. I can consider a reasonable offer, on the contrary I will say thank you and move on. In any case there is no doubt that I will finish this season in Ferrari. This point is not in dispute."
