F1 | Vettel on the SF1000: “We are more competitive on the straight, less in the corners” [VIDEO]
"The situation is not much different than in Austria," added the German
While waiting to see the first results on the track in today's free practice, Sebastian Vettel analyzed the performance growth of the SF1000 over the last two race weekends, underlining how the potential of the package has not changed much compared to what we have seen in Austria and Hungary.
The change to the aerodynamic set-up (more unloaded, especially at the rear) certainly helped the Red on the straight, but this change led both drivers to suffer tremendously in corners, an aspect which obviously penalized the management of the compounds in the race.
The hope this second weekend at Silverstone, precisely in this sense, is to have clean sessions, without problems or hitches from a technical point of view, so as to collect as much data as possible on the car and the balance.
Appointment at 12.00 on Sky Sport F1 HD for live coverage of the first free practice session on the Silverstone track, scene of the Grand Prix dedicated to the 70 years of Formula 1.
