F1 | Verstappen: “The mistake at the start made the race more exciting”

Sixth consecutive victory for Max Verstappen. New adjectives are starting to run out to describe the excessive power of Max Verstappen and the Red Bull during this season. Even at Silverstone the Milton Keynes team and the Dutchman did not leave even crumbs to the competition, obtaining yet another top step of the podium.

A victory that was practically never in question, despite a less than excellent start by the two-time world champion who forced him to recover the position on Lando Norris's McLaren during the fifth lap. A flaw which, however, did not affect yet another perfect weekend by Verstappen who is increasingly leading the World Championship.

“I started very badly, we need to analyze why – declared Verstappen at the end of the race – The two McLarens were particularly fast and it took a few laps to overtake Norris. After that I managed to detach myself a little and then things fell into place. After the Safety Car it was difficult for us to keep the soft tires alive, with the advantage remaining at three/three and a half seconds. I'm happy, eleven consecutive victories for the team are something incredible but it wasn't a simple and linear race today."

On the start: “That slide wasn't positive, we have to analyze what happened because the previous starts had been better. But this made the race more exciting: I had to push and Lando gave me a lot of trouble, but he was very fair when we battled."
